The iOS 15 update is finally here. Released on 20 September, the new update will be available for all phones from the iPhone 6S and above. The beta version has been out for a few months with people testing out the new features. The iOS 15 update is a continuation of iOS 13 and iOS 14. The new update allows you to decide just exactly as you choose. An example is a change of the taskbar in Safari being moved to the bottom of the screen, making it more accessible, but this can easily be changed back in your settings.
The main difference in this update is that there are no major aesthetic changes, the main changes are made up of small changes that make a big difference. This is great because the changes on this update are not drastic enough to inconvenience you.
Focus Mode
This is one of the updates that people are looking forward to most. It’s an improvement on their ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode. We’ve seen how IT Support Companies have implemented this kind of technology to help their clients. This mode allows you to filter your notifications depending on what you need and you can filter your apps and widgets based on what you’re currently doing. Focus mode not only filters your phone but shows this status on your iMessage, similarly to away status on other sites. This will also help keep others from interrupting you while this mode is active. Third-party apps can choose to incorporate this feature if they choose, which means that this could apply to apps like Whatsapp and other chat apps.
In focus mode, you can select who you’d like to receive notifications from. You can customize the apps that you want on your focus mode screen and you can simply access your other apps via the app library. Any notifications from apps that are not in your focus mode menu will be hidden, so you won’t have to worry about distractions like Instagram and Twitter.
Portrait Mode for FaceTime
iOS 15 now lets you use portrait mode while using FaceTime. The classic artistic blurred background is now no longer just for photos. This can also be adapted to Zoom and Skype, but it looks best when used on iOS apps. Unlike Zoom that makes the background look jagged and lagging, the FaceTime portrait mode is seamless. The spatial audio feature has improved the audio experience. Spatial audio spreads out the sound which gives an effect similar to surround sound. This is great for calls with multiple people.
Notification Summary
The notification summary feature compiles all unimportant notifications into a summary which saves you from unnecessary notifications. You won’t have to be constantly interrupted by these notifications and you can choose when you’d like the notification summary to be sent to you. This is helpful, especially for those who use their phones for work and personal use. You’ll no longer have to be overwhelmed with useless notifications.
Live Text
Livet ext is a great feature that allows you to add text in real-time. This can be used on your camera or photos in real-time. It will automatically identify text and handwriting. You’ll be able to automatically translate between languages or call phone numbers that are detected in the image. When using it on photos, you simply need to click on the Live Text icon at the bottom of your screen. iOS 15.2 has been released even with more updates, including Application Privacy Report, Digital Heritage feature, etc. You can learn about the iOS 15.2 updates more.
